Macaws

Macaws are brilliantly coloured members of the parrot family. The macaw is a very rare bird in the World, but you can find them in the Caribbean, Central and South America especially it is very common to see them living in rain forests.

All macaws have the same physical characteristics. They have a slender body, long wings, and a long tapered tail. All types of macaws have an oversized head and beak. The macaws have large and powerful beaks that easily crack nuts and seeds that help them while eating. In addition, their dry tongues have a bone inside that makes them an effective tool for eating fruits. Macaws eat a variety of foods like fruits, palm fruits, nuts, seeds, leaves, flowers, and stems.

Macaws also have gripping toes that they use to latch onto branches and to grab, hold, and examine items. The birds sport graceful tails that are typically very long.
